Walnut Hill Holsteiners

A Clinic with Gerhard Politz

26 – 27 July 2014

In almost fifty years of studying, training, teaching and competing according to the classical principles and the Pyramid of Training, Gerhard has acquired the depth of knowledge and experience that enables him to bring out the best in both horse and rider. He holds professional credentials as a German Master Trainer/Instructor (Berufsreitlehrer FN) and as a British Horse Society Instructor. Building on the mentorship of Egon von Neindorff, General Albert Stecken, Willi Schultheis (Coach of the German Olympic Team) and Kurt Albrecht (former director of the Spanish Riding School) Gerhard has trained over 18 horses to Grand Prix and coached numerous riders to the highest level both in the United Stated and Germany.

As an educator, Gerhard has been integral in the USDF Instructor Education and Certification program. He is a member of the panel of Examiners, wrote the USDF lunging manual and contributed to the writing of the USDF dressage tests. An avid teacher Gerhard has mentored a number of young riders, enjoying great success in the Young Riders’ Championships. His students have won multiple medals earning Gold, Silver and bronze, in both the individual and team competitions.

As a clinician Gerhard can connect with riders and horses of all levels. His teaching style allows horses and riders to grow from where they are in their education whether that is Training Level or Grand Prix. Also, a master of lunging, he will be providing seat lessons to interested participants.
